The characters in the Hobbit are struggling with man vs. nature by trying yo get to the castle and killing the dragon. This is the main conflict because they got Bilbo Baggins-the burglar to help steal the gold and kill the dragon, and also they told us at the beginning of the book for what they are trying to do. Some events that prevent the Bilbo and the 13 dwarves from getting to the castle and killing the dragon have been the trolls, storm, goblins, and Golleum. I do not think that Bilbo and the 13 dwarves will solve the conflict without doing more harm because then the book would not be interesting and then it would be easy to kill the dragon or then the Lord of the Rings series would not be because if they fail then they would all be dead.
