In our discussion we talked about what would happen to Gollum. Nic thought that Gollum would come back in the next book as a cameo. Abby thought that Gollum would come back and hunter for the ring and kill the person who has it and Marissa thought the same thing. Michael thought Gollum will disappear and reappear when the lord of the rings unfolds.
We also discussed what will happens with Bilbo at Smaug. Nic thought that he will die. Abby thought that Smaug would try to kill Bilbo, but the dwarves help him kill Smaug. Marissa thinks that Bilbo will live and kill the Smaug with the dwarves.
I agree with Michael that Golumn will come back in The Lord of the Rings. Golumn is a creature who has lived for years and I think that he will live longer. I agree with Marissa that Bilbo and the Dwarves will come together to kill Smaug.

ReplyDeleteGollum is a good topic to discuss! I think he probably will return in the Lord of the Rings as a minor character or something like that. I hope Bilbo defeats Smaug. Additional note to that - the dwarves had better help Bilbo! If they don't, then Bilbo should get all the treasure. Overall, it sounds like your group also got some good discussion and speculation going!
ReplyDeleteI agree with the theory that Gollum will return in the Lord of the Rings. I am with Carson on the idea that he will be a minor character. Perhaps he will try to take back the ring, but will be foiled easily.
